“1984” (2026 Biola Game Jam) (Lighting & Level Design)
Dystopian Themed Detective Game
“1984” (built in Unreal Engine) is a detective game where you snap clues with your camera and deduce who is the culprit based off of the clues you find. This was a 48 hour game jam, in which I worked with a team of four developers to build this game. My role in this project was the level designer. I created the interiors and exteriors of the game, controlled the lighting, and put together the visuals our team had created. I also did a small amount of sound design and game mechanics design- where I created simple mechanics such as the door system, interaction system, etc. Additionally, this was the first project that I had experimented with MetaHuman, which I used for all of the characters’ models except the main character, who was designed by someone else on our team (Gideon Baugh). I was primarily responsible for assembling the look of the game in this project.
